In this post, we will compare the newer Momcozy S12 Pro with the prior version of this pump, the Momcozy S12. We will share the key similarities and differences. This will help new or expectant moms doing research on wearable breast pumps understand how these two models differ from each other and which may be a better fit for them.

As a mom of 4 who works full time and has over 60 months (and counting) of breastfeeding and pumping experience, I have personally used several different breast pumps and understand what is most important when it comes to breast pumps. I have been using the Momcozy S12 Pro pump for about a year.

Momcozy S12 and Momcozy S12 Pro Similarities

Here are some of the features both of these pumps have in common:

  • double electric wearable breast pumps

  • hands-free, convenient pumping experience

  • 6oz milk storage capacity per side (12 oz total maximum if using both sides)

  • can be used as a single pump or both sides at the same time

  • multiple modes for stimulation and expression

  • USB-C charging

  • great value for the cost compared to other double electric breast pumps available on the market

Key differences between momcozy S12 and S12 Pro

Here are the main differences between the Momcozy S12 and the Momcozy S12 Pro.

  • Number of Pump Modes: the S12 has 2 modes (stimulation and expression), whereas the S12 Pro has 3 modes (stimulation, expression, and a third that mixes both stimulation and expression). This provides the pumping mom additional flexibility to find the most efficient pump mode and can improve both letdown and maximize milk production.

  • Battery Charging Time: The S12 Pro has faster battery charging than the original S12 pump. The S12 Pro takes 1.5 hours to become fully charged compared to 2.5 hours for the S12. This can be a big improvement for anyone who, like me, has ever forgotten to charge their pump and had to impatiently wait until it was partially charged before pumping. Every single minute counts!

  • LED Display: The display on the S12 Pro was upgraded compared to the original S12. The S12 Pro display more clearly displays battery life, suction strength, and which pump mode is currently in use.

  • Flange Sealing: The Momcozy S12 Pro has a double-sealed flange, compared to a single seal on the original S12 pump. This helps ensure a tighter, more sealed fit and prevents leaking.

The Overall Perspective

The Momcozy S12 Pro has several key improvements over the Momcozy S12 that positively impact the day-to-day pumping experience. With faster charging, better flange sealing, and an additional pumping mode allowing further customization, the S12 Pro is a clear winner over its predecessor. As of this moment, the Momcozy S12 pump is no longer listed on the Momcozy website as available for purchase. It appears as though the brand has fully transitioned to selling the newer, improved, Momcozy S12 Pro. These enhancements can make a big difference for any mom, even one who only pumps occasionally, but they can especially be impactful for those who exclusively pump or those who are working moms.

If you want to dive even deeper into the details on the Momcozy S12 Pro pump and how it compares to other double electric wearable breast pump options available on the market, I did a full in-depth review article here. Spoiler alert - it compares very well against other much more expensive wearable breast pump options, but there are a few key things you should know about it before buying.

If you’re still doing research and want to know more about other wearable breast pump options such as the Elvie, I also did a full review article on the Elvie breast pump here.

If you’re interested in looking at a traditional (non-wearable) breast pump that has been my ride-or-die for over 7 years and counting, check out my review of the Spectra pump here.

I wish you the very best on your pumping journey!
