Momcozy S12 Pro Wearable Breast Pump Review

Benefits of wearable breast pumps

The Momcozy S12 Pro shares benefits with other wearable breast pumps. We will outline those first before we dive into what makes this pump unique.

  • Convenience and Flexibility - It is easy to move around while using a double electric breast pump. You are not “tethered” to one spot with a cord plugged into the wall. You can pump hands free or while multitasking. This is probably the single biggest benefit of wearable breast pumps.

  • Easier For Travel - These pumps are small enough to fit inside your bra. Their small size is helpful when packed into a diaper bag or purse when traveling. This is especially handy for working moms or those who may need to travel with their breast pump.

  • Discretion When Pumping - Whether you’re pumping at home or on the go, wearable breast pumps fit completely in your bra. This makes them more discreet to use for those moments when you don’t want to be exposed while pumping. I’ve used my Momcozy pumps on an airplane and in other semi-public places, and it’s easy to pump discreetly with wearable pumps.

Pros of Momcozy S12 pro wearable pumps

Here are some of the key benefits that make the Momcozy S12 pumps unique compared to other breast pumps on the market.

  • Value / Price - The Momcozy S12 Pro breast pump is very affordable compared to other wearable pump options. With the large amount of nursery gear, baby clothes, and everything else your little one needs, many parents are looking for places to save money. These pumps work! In my mind, that is the #1 most important criteria for a breast pump. And they are much lower in price than other options.

  • Battery Life - the battery life on the Momcozy S12 is better than other wearable breast pump options. I once went on a 3-day work trip and forgot my charger. I made it through the entire trip on a single charge pumping 6 times a day. The battery life is 3 to 4 times longer than my Elvie wearable breast pump.

  • Large Milk Capacity - the Momcozy S12 holds plenty of milk. It can hold 6oz on each side, which is more than some other wearable pump options.

  • Easy Disassembly - I like that the motor quickly and easily detaches from the milky parts when I store them in the fridge between pumping sessions. This makes it convenient and easy to use.

Cons of momcozy s12 pro wearable pumps

While there are many great benefits of this pump, there are also some downsides.

  • Leaking Can Happen - unfortunately, I’ve had multiple leaks while using the pump that have resulted in milk all over my clothes. Yes, these are technically operator error, but it still has happened multiple times to someone who has literally years of breast pumping experience. You have to be careful that the entirety of the flange is attached to the plastic base. If it’s not, you will leak milk out of the bottom. A spilled breast milk mess is not fun.

  • The Parts Are Not Dishwasher Safe - the care instructions say not to put the parts in the dishwasher. This means you must hand wash all of the pump parts. This is a downside compared to other wearable pumps which say their parts can be washed in a dishwasher.

  • It Sounds Like A Normal Breast Pump - this is not the quietest wearable breast pump out there on the market. It sounds very similar to a traditional breast pump. The Elvie is much more quiet, which makes it more discreet if you are pumping in semi-public.

  • The Shape Is Bulkier Than Some - while the Momcozy S12 Pro is small enough to fit inside your bra, it is not as sleek as some other wearable breast pumps. The shape makes it more visible when in use.

HOw does it compare to a traditional breast pump?

We will compare the Momcozy S12 to traditional (non-wearable) breast pumps.

  • Traditional Breast Pump (ex: Spectra S1 or S2 Plus)

    • Have long tubing connecting pump motor to flanges

    • Not wearable - some have internal battery, but others have to be plugged into an outlet while in use

    • Usually parts are dishwasher safe

    • Generally more efficient for pumping milk

  • Momcozy S12 Plus

    • No long tubing because flange is directly connected to motor

    • Wearable with internal rechargeable battery

    • Parts are not dishwasher safe

    • I find my traditional Spectra pump to be slightly more effective at pumping milk, but not by much

Momcozy S12 Pro in Elegant White. Other color options include Gradient Gray and Flesh Pink.

how does it compare to other wearable breast pumps?

We will compare the Momcozy S12 Pro to other wearable breast pumps.

  • Other Wearable Breast Pumps (ex: Elvie wearable breast pump)

    • Elvie has higher end features such as phone app and dishwasher safe parts

    • Battery life may not be as good as Momcozy S12

    • Similar milk pumping effectiveness to Momcozy S12

    • Extremely quiet sound

    • Higher in cost

    • Very sleek design (I’ve used my Elvie while sitting at a restaurant eating dinner)

  • Momcozy S12 Plus

    • No phone app (I have never seen a need to use the app, so this feature may or may not be important to you)

    • Better battery life than Elvie

    • Similar milk pumping effectiveness to Elvie

    • Has a louder sound while pumping than Elvie

    • Lower in cost

    • Design is not as sleek as Elvie

conclusion

To wrap it all up, here is my recommendation. If you’re:

  • wanting the convenience of a wearable breast pump that works

  • wanting to spend as little money as possible (save where you can, right?!)

  • ok with hand-washing pump parts

  • ok with double-checking fit to avoid leaks

then the Momcozy S12 Pro can be a great fit for you. Yes, there are other pump options that come with higher end features, but they also come with a higher price tag.

I have written full review articles on both Spectra breast pumps and the Elvie breast pump in case you are looking for more detail on other options available to you. The good thing is, I’m not sponsored or compensated by any of these companies, so you know you’re getting an honest perspective from a mom just like you.
