Now that I’m a mom (of four!), I have a completely different perspective on baby registries. The reality is that the vast majority of gifts on a baby registry are for the baby! Baby onesies, baby care products, baby toys, baby nursery items, diapers, etc…they’re all great, and they’re definitely needed. But what if we thought about buying a “baby gift” a little bit differently? What if we had the mom-to-be in our thoughts our hearts instead?

Since undergoing my own transformative motherhood journey and recognizing the importance of the physical and mental health of the postpartum mother to ensure better, happier outcomes for both mom and baby, I always purchase gifts specifically for the mom-to-be when I am invited to a baby shower. Even when it means going outside of the baby registry (because, of course, most moms-to-be don’t think to add anything for ourselves!).

Here are some of my favorite gifts that are sure to be loved by the mom-to-be in your life.
