If you're a mom looking for fun, easy Christmas crafts for your little ones, you've come to the right place. These simple ideas are perfect for kids of all ages and will fill your home with holiday cheer.

As a mom of 4 expecting our 5th baby in mid November, I’m gearing up for a cozy holiday season with a lot of time at home with the family. This means I will need PLENTY of kids craft ideas for those dark winter evenings at home! I rounded up a list of all my favorite Christmas crafts from the past several years and also researched a few more to add to this list.

Christmas Crafts For Kids Supply List

Best of all, most of these kids craft ideas use simple, inexpensive supplies that you likely already have around your house. I’ve included a consolidated list of basic supplies for these crafts here so that you can easily add what you need to your Amazon cart! I always keep these kids craft supply staples stocked in my house.

What Are Christmas Crafts For Kids?

1. Popsicle Stick Christmas Trees

Popsicle sticks are a crafting staple, and they can be turned into adorable little Christmas trees! Simply glue the sticks into a triangle shape. Let your kids paint them green and decorate with mini pom-poms, stickers, or sequins for ornaments. Add a star at the top, and you’ve got a cute little tree to hang on your wall or fridge.

2. Paper Plate Santa Masks

All you need is a paper plate, some cotton balls, and markers to make a fun Santa mask. Cut out the center of the plate to make room for your child’s face. Then, glue cotton balls around the edges for Santa’s fluffy beard. Let your kids color in Santa’s hat and draw his jolly eyes and cheeks.

3. Handprint Reindeer

Turn your child’s handprints into cute reindeer for a keepsake craft. Paint your child’s hand brown and press it onto a piece of paper to create the reindeer’s head and antlers. Once dry, draw on eyes and a big red nose (using paint or googly eyes and a pom-pom). These reindeer handprints make great homemade Christmas cards. They also make great kids Christmas crafts for grandparents!

4. Toilet Paper Roll Snowmen

Recycle empty toilet paper rolls into snowmen! Paint the rolls white, and let your kids decorate them with markers, buttons, and scraps of fabric for scarves. You can even glue on googly eyes and use pipe cleaners for arms. These make great tabletop decorations or additions to your Christmas village.

5. Christmas Garland with Paper Chains

This classic craft is perfect for kids. Have your little ones cut strips of red, green, and white paper. Then, loop them into circles and glue or tape them together to form a chain. Hang your garland on the tree or across your mantel to add some homemade flair to your holiday décor.

6. Pinecone Christmas Ornaments

Head outside with your kids to collect some pinecones, then turn them into Christmas ornaments. Spray them with glitter or paint, and let the kids add tiny decorations like beads, pom-poms, or ribbons. Attach a string to the top, and you’ve got a rustic ornament ready for the tree.

7. Salt Dough Ornaments

Salt dough is a fun and simple way to make homemade ornaments. Mix 1 cup of flour, ½ cup of salt, and ½ cup of water to form a dough. Let your kids shape it into stars, hearts, or Christmas trees using cookie cutters. After baking and cooling, paint and decorate the ornaments. Add a ribbon, and hang them on your tree for a personal touch.

8. Paper Snowflake Window Decorations

Fold white paper and let your kids snip away to create their own paper snowflakes. Once unfolded, these delicate snowflakes can be taped to windows for a festive look. It’s a simple yet magical way to get into the Christmas spirit.

9. Pom-Pom Wreaths

Grab some green pom-poms and glue them onto a cardboard circle to create a mini wreath. Let your kids add tiny red pom-poms for berries, and finish it off with a bow. These little wreaths make adorable decorations for doors, windows, or walls.

10. Reindeer Headbands

Your kids will love making and wearing these cute reindeer headbands. Cut out strips of brown paper for the headband and antlers. Let your kids glue on red pom-poms for noses and add googly eyes. Once done, they can wear their headbands while pretending to be Rudolph!

11. Christmas Tree Suncatchers

Create a colorful Christmas tree suncatcher using contact paper and tissue paper. Cut a tree shape out of the contact paper and let your kids stick pieces of green, red, and yellow tissue paper onto it. Hang the finished suncatcher in a window, and watch as it catches the light in beautiful colors.

12. Jingle Bell Bracelets

Kids love noise, and jingle bells are perfect for making festive sounds. Help your little ones string small jingle bells onto a pipe cleaner or ribbon to create a jingly bracelet. They’ll love shaking it around while singing Christmas carols.

13. Candy Cane Reindeer

Turn candy canes into cute reindeer! Use brown pipe cleaners to form antlers around the top of the candy cane. Add googly eyes and a red pom-pom for the nose. These reindeer make great stocking stuffers or fun treats to hand out at holiday parties.

14. Finger Paint Christmas Trees

Let your kids get messy with some finger paint! Draw the outline of a Christmas tree on a piece of paper, and let your kids use green paint and their fingers to fill in the tree. Once dry, they can add ornaments by finger-painting dots of red, blue, and yellow.

15. Paper Plate Wreaths

Create a Christmas wreath using a paper plate as the base. Cut out the center of the plate to form a ring. Let your kids paint it green and decorate it with pom-poms, buttons, or paper leaves. Attach a ribbon to the top for easy hanging.

16. Christmas Slime

Make a batch of Christmas-themed slime with red, green, and gold glitter. Combine glue, baking soda, and contact lens solution for a simple slime recipe. Your kids will love squishing and stretching the sparkly slime, and it’s an easy craft that can keep them busy for hours.

17. Felt Christmas Tree

Cut out a large Christmas tree shape from green felt and stick it to the wall at toddler height. Then, make various ornaments out of different colored felt and let your kids “decorate” the tree by sticking the ornaments on and off. This interactive craft is great for little ones who love to play with the Christmas tree but can’t reach the real one!

18. Santa Handprint Ornaments

Capture your child’s handprint by dipping it in white paint and pressing it onto a red ornament ball. Once dry, use a black marker to draw Santa’s belt around the ball. You can add cotton or felt for Santa’s hat and beard. This cute keepsake makes a lovely Christmas gift for grandparents or a special addition to your tree.

19. Beaded Candy Canes

Help your kids string red and white beads onto pipe cleaners to form candy canes. These beaded ornaments are simple, fun, and make a great fine motor skill activity for little hands. Once finished, they can hang their candy canes on the tree or give them as gifts.

20. Christmas Countdown Chain

Create a paper chain to count down the days until Christmas. Use red and green construction paper to make links, and write the numbers on each one. Let your kids tear off a link each day as they get closer to Christmas. It’s a fun way to build anticipation for the big day!

21. Snow Globe Jars

Make your own snow globe using a small jar, glitter, water, and a miniature Christmas figurine. Glue the figurine to the inside of the jar lid. Fill the jar with water and glitter, then screw the lid back on. When your kids shake the jar, they’ll love watching the glitter swirl around like snow!

22. Christmas Card Collage

Give your kids old Christmas cards, safety scissors, and glue, and let them create a Christmas card collage. They can cut out pictures of Santa, trees, snowmen, and reindeer, then glue them onto a large piece of construction paper to create their own holiday scene.

23. Gingerbread House Decorating

Make gingerbread houses together using graham crackers, icing, and candy. Your kids will love decorating their own mini houses with gumdrops, candy canes, and sprinkles. It’s a sweet craft that doubles as a fun snack afterward!

24. DIY Snowman Ornaments

Use clear ornament balls and white paint to create snowman faces. Let your kids paint dots for eyes, a carrot-shaped nose, and a smile on the ornament. You can even fill the ornament with fake snow or cotton balls for an extra frosty look.

25. Christmas Tree Button Art

Create Christmas tree art using green buttons of various sizes. Let your kids glue the buttons onto a piece of cardboard or canvas to form the shape of a tree. They can add decorations with smaller colored buttons and finish the tree off with a star at the top.
